Then, you'd have to manage yourself to define a sort of semaphore. (set a flag to check if the process has been run or has to be run. This flag must be available to everyone, and must be updated atomically. You can handle it with an almost simple SP or with some logic in the existing SP's.)

Scheduling the stored procedure at the database level is interesting. A handy part of the execution through the process chain is there's no scheduled gap between the execution of the proc and the beginning of the process chain, and there's also only one schedule to check for what runs when.

If there was just a way to "comment out" a step, like in my good old days with JCL in the IBM mainframe world.
