Hello Judy,
If you use Job Monitoring in SAP Business Process Monitoring (SAP Solution Manager) you can configure specific background jobs (as monitoring objects). This configuration is actually easier to accomplish using Business Process Monitoring compared to 'traditional' CCMS. Then, you might want to use the Alert Post Processing. You create your auto-reaction for alerts (executed automatically). Develop a self-defined auto-reaction (maybe you have this part already) using the Enhancement options for Business Process Monitoring.
With best regards
Robin

Subject: How to create an MTE class

Phillip,

Did you get a response to this inquiry? I would like to set up alerts for one specific job in the case that it fails. This is exactly the situation you have described.

The job runs on a satellite system and our alerts are generated through a solution manager that monitors specific MTE classes. I would like to set up different auto reactions for different jobs.

Thanks,
Judy.
