Hi,

At a minimum, use:
SAPexe and SAPdbexe 310

If you want, you can also apply the following package on top:
dw patch level 315

My recommendation: use package 310 alone, unless package 315 fixes a specific issue you have.

Subject: ECC 6 Kernel Patch on AIX

Guys,
I've attempted to Patch my AIX (6.1) SAP kernel ECC6 Patch 277 upwards to the following:-
dw patch level 315
SAPexe and SAPdbexe 310
SAPexe 291 and SAPdbexe 291.
Each time I attempt to start sap I get the following error:-
***Error in dev_rfc.trc*******
T:1286 Error in program 'igsmux_mt': ======> Connect to SAP gateway failed
Connect_PM TPNAME=IGS.KQ1, GWHOST=kiphwr3q01, GWSERV=3300
****
I can back out the kernel patch by putting the ../old_kernel back into exe. SAP starts ok on 277. I have made no infrastructure changes that might affect this other than the kernel SAR files. I have used the normal approach to kernel patching which has worked OK many times before. ie.
1. download sapexe and sapexedb.sar files
2. create new_kernel directory and uncar SAR files here
3. create old_kernel directory and copy exe directory to here.
4. copy * from new_kernel directory to exe directory.
I haven't run the saproot.sh as this is a fix just for brtools ownership (isn't it ?).
