Hello,
Never done this before. But I would assume 1KE8 also would not work either.
Possible Methods:
1. Use 9KE0
2. Use a BAPI ABAP to upload the data based on 9KE0.
3. Write an ABAP program to update BSEG based on the entry in the Cost Centre master. Key here would be to know the "from date". Then run 1KE8.
4. Contact SAP for migration support.
It would interesting to know if others have a solution. I know on a client's project that used CCA and then used PCA, that the go-live was on the first day of the fiscal year.

We are implementing Profit center Accounting to a subsidiary which is into manufacturing They have implemented cost center accounting and they are still using it this time. May I know what are the areas that will be affected by the profit center accounting set up considering that they have modules SD, MM, PP, QM, FICO. The implementation will start in April , 2011....Will there be any transition for the P & L items already posted without profit center?
