Please check the following urls over MCOD installation, if it helps answer some of your questions:

Preferably, i would take a cold backup of your existing SBX filesystems and prior to the import, wipe these filesystems(only SAP) clean of contents as opposed to using the uninstall(??) option from SAPinst.
