[sap-log-sd] Cost Centres at S/O Item level

Friends, I need to specify a cost centre at sale order item level and need suggestions.
My client hasn't switched on Profitability Analysis.
I know we can assign a cost centre via Order reason but that's at header level and doesn't meets the requirement which is for a cost centre per line item on sale order.
I am thinking of mapping cost centres to plants as cost centres in this case are selling entities. Plants can be specified per line item but need to confirm if the cost centre will be visible on accounting document posted in AR.
