hi Snowy,
Sorry for the delay in my reply. We are doing the Pre-requisite for "Prepare" for the upgrade.
I created the Self Install package. Check this out..
https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/weblogs?blog=/pub/wlg/8811
In the SAP Installation Server Administration Tool (used to create the Self Install Package), we have the option of creating "packages". We can select the components we want to install. And also configure the package with script events like "On Begin Install", "On End Install" etc. IThe tool gives us various options like "Copy a file", "copy a file in force mode" etc. So, I thought of adding the check for the GUI version in "On Begin Install". The code I gave in my previous reply was the default code for "Check for file existence". I was just trying to make the job easy for the network team. They don't have to check it the user needs SAP GUI.
Any ideas are welcome.
TIA
