I will go with the DB and OS that the internal IT Staff of the company most
familiar with.

Maintenance and training cost to new DB and OS plus possibility of downtime
because of improper maintenance can be expensive !

Dear Folks,
I need to suggest my client the right OS and DB for implementing ECC 6.0.
Earlier I had implemented ECC 6.0 on 32 bit Windows 2003 and SQL 2005 for a different company so I have good exposure in this process.
I am aware that Linux/Max DB is the cheapest and HP-UX/Oracle would be the costliest. Cost wise my client stands in mid-range.
Kindly suggeest me a proper combnation to go for. (I wont be going for 32 bit platform if its Windows 2003, it has performance issue with x86)
