Hi Ina, Did you maintained the table in OB08 as below for example: ExRt = Exchange rate type -ValidFrom = Effective date of the exchange rate displayed. -Ratio(from) = always 1 (default) -From = Originating currency for the transaction (e.g. USD) -Dirquot = Direct Quotation e.g. 1 USD = JPY.114.06 -Indir.quot = Indirect Quotation e.g 1 JPY = USD. 0.0088 This field is not in use and always display "0.00000" -To = always 1 (default) this is reporting currency (e.g. JPY) For the scenario "USD to local currency", then I hope the system will calculate accordingly, if you make any transaction with JPY and want to see the same in USD. Regards, ARI

Here's an example that might clear it up. M rate 12/01/10 - local currency to USD = 1.2500 in the system (inverse is .8000) In January we change the way we input, so M rate at 01/01/11 - USD to local currency = .8500 (inverse is 1.17647 When we post a document in local currency in January, instead of using 1.17647 which is the new rate, it ignores that because USD is not the "to currency". Instead it uses 1.2500 which is incorrect. In addition, we get a warning message for every entry input as USD to local currency which means we have to enter through over 100 lines of input each month to get the rates excepted into the system. My question is do other companies use market convention and if so, how is SAP configured to handle this? Regards, Ina | | __.____._ Copyright © 2010 Toolbox.com and message author.
