| Microsoft recently announced that it would join Mozilla and Google in their push to improve user privacy. Using a "DNS over HTTPS" (DoH) protocol, web traffic would be encrypted to keep "man-in-the-middle" hackers at bay. Internet service providers, however, claim DoH will prevent them from tracking customer activity on their networks. Some ISPs are even going as far as to petition regulators, as they say data centralization poses an even greater threat.
