Found the solution and documenting here for future reference. It may be useful for someone in future:
Company code for Travel expenses is derived from the cost assignment. So as per the configuration, since we have activated "set expense company code" in table V_T706K, then company code for the symbolic account will be taken from the expense postings, so other line items (vendor) in the document also will be taken from the expense postings.
Cross company code posting is possible in Travel Management with a configuration change in Table V_T706K. Here we need to deactivate the option "set expense company code" to allow cross company code postings.
This is in IMG..."travel expenses > Transfer to Accounting > Define Assignment of Wage Types to Symbolic Accounts."

Hi,
We want to generate intercompany posting. Employee Vendor in company A (IT017 = company A), however we want the cost assignment to go to company B. We want OBYA in FI to generate balancing GL entries.
However in IT0017 if we turn on company code charges permitted in trip, then in PFRI an error occurs - no vendor found for this selection.
The "get out of jail" fix is to extend the vendor to company B, however we don't want to do this as we want posting to reflect vendor in company A. We have set up in PRT3 trans HRP 1RR *KP for vendor search.
We have set up employee as vendor i.e. LFB1-PERNR.
If we switch OFF for employee vendor in IT017 changes permitted then the company field in cost assignment in PR05 is greyed out and we therefore can't post to company B.
I know intercompany posting can work as have seen this in other companies. Any help appreciated. |
