Hi, we have an issue with the quarterly SUI report for South Dakota. An employee moved from Minnesota to South Dakota (our company base) in middle of January. The weekly payroll calculated the MN UI etc correctly, as well as the following SD UI, Investment Fee and Unemployment Solvency tax. As confirmed with the department of labor the SD UI and Investment Fee needs to be adjusted to reflect the already paid MN UI, while the Unemployment Solvency tax needs to stay unadjusted. Our payroll is doing this in the correct way, i.e. /710, /738, /782 and the corresponding /410, ./438 and /482 are correct. The SUI report for the 2nd quarter in which the employee maxed out shows the Unemployment Solvency Tax (/482) as adjusted, i.e. the calculated tax is too low since it is based on the taxable amount of the UI (/710) instead on the /782. I reported this issue to SAP and after going back and forth with them for 3 weeks (pretty long for a High-Priority issue) I sent them the solution to fix the SUI report which by the way has a wrong setting in the tax form group 0082 (standard!). Anyhow, they are now coming back to me stating that for all other customers there is no issue and they need a written statement of the legal authority requesting the fix. Is anybody out there processing payroll with SAP in South Dakota besides us? Did anybody else came across this issue? Any feedback would be welcome.
