x86 is compatible with x86_64 and not with IA64 - that's mostly why IA64
adoption was limited.
Since you only have the 2 choices, it must be x86 - it can't be IA64.

I had been at Java for business page, but j2se 1.4.2 is only available
for download with Linux platform i586(x86) and Itanium (IA64), but my
Linux is x86_64 and hw is EMT64.
