RE:[sap-hr] Withdrawn employees

I tried making change to the last action event dated 01/01/1996 and the system gave an error
"Change before earliest retro. date 01/01/1996 acc. to control rec to py area BF."
We never had payroll working before 1998 in our company. We have our pay periods created from 1998. Then I created pay periods for 1996 and 1997 and tried it. The system now says another error: -
The field Earliest personal recalculation date in time evaluation
in the Payroll Status (0003) infotype limits recalculation for time evaluation to 05/10/1998.
