To carry over your balance from yesterday use the L operand like this:

HRS=L2091 this will pull in the balance from the previous day

to reset at the new calendar year, you can use the current month and current day operands
HRS=BCURMO
HRS?1 - First month

HRS=BCURDY
HRS?1 - First day

if those conditions are met, don't carry over the previous day's balance otherwise do carry it over.
Hope this makes sense.

Subject: Cummulating a time type over a calendar year

We have a requirement to total the number of hours used so far in a calendar year (the absence writes to a time type) and then make a decision based on that number of hours. I have no problem with using HRS? to make the decision, but don't know the best way to cummulate the hours used so far in the calendar year, up to and including today.

Your help is appreciated.
Shannon
