Hi Ravi,

I agree with you. Actually standard SAP doesn't allow previous year depreciation calculation. At some place it is mentioned to use ABNAN instead of ABZON but doesn't help either.

At one place I read 'I had suggested that maybe they might need to use a different dep expense account and accum account for passing manual JE's which would rollup into the same place in the financial statement. They agreed and that's what we did'.

I don't know how it will work.

Regards,

Pankaj

Subject: aSSET vALUE dATE AND pOSTING dATE ARE NOT IN SAME FISCAL YEar

Hi All

I m doing a posting through Tcode-ABZON with following details-

New Asset

Document Date-10/01/2015
Posting Date-10/01/2015
Asset Value Date-11/01/2014

I m getting error- Asset Value Date & Posting Date are not in same fiscal year.

I understand that I can do posting through Asset Value Date-10/01/2015 & later once Asset is created I can change capitalization date to 11/01/2014.

a) Is it a good practice to change capitalization date?
b) Will changing 'Capitalization Date' affect my depreciation or anything? In my view 'No' the reason being the asset is newly created & depreciation will anyhow start from posting date i.e. 10/01/2015.

Regards

Pankaj
