Hi Pankaj,
If your group currency (USD) is your functional currency, then the values posted at the time of accounting document creation should not change. Therefore, a period-end valuation from LOCAL (NGN) currency to GROUP currency should not be done except for those balance sheet accounts that are subject to currency exchange risk. An example would be an accounts receivable account where the billings are in NGN and the collection is in NGN. Or a bank account that is NGN denominated. These types of balance sheet accounts will result in REALIZED functional currency (USD) gains and losses.

Subject: Functional Currency Configuration

Hi All

Can a functional currency & company code (local currency) differ? We have company in Nigeria which is configured as NGN as company code currency & USD as group currency. Now we got request that functional currency to be USD. How it will be configured? According to me company code currency=functional currency.

Regards

Pankaj
