We used to purchase a cable assembly as a bought out item The material master was configured as a bought out item. After few months our purchase has decided to but it as a sub contract part by using available stock of raw material. With out changing the material master to reflect that cable asssembly asa sub contract part, they have a released a sub contract purchase order and now after the material has arrived the system is giving error in creating GRN. I tried to modify material master to configure this assembly as a sub contract part (MRP2 screen). The system gave error as the cable assembly was available in shop floor stocks. I removed the stock through 201 movement and again tried to change the material master. The system is again giving error that the stocks are available in the same storage locations though I had removed the same (MMBE transaction clearly shows no stock)
Is this error due to previous transactions as different class of material (standard bought out item). Is there any way to change MRP2 screen to change valuation type from HLBL to HLBT (sub contract)?
