Subject: Depreciation Percentage Calculation

Dear all,

I want to know about how the SAP calculates the depreciation percentage of straight line method.

In my case,
My asset acquisition date is 01.01.2011. The value is 200.000 USD with useful life of 5 years and no scrap value.
From 01.01.2011 I used Double declining method (dep key DG20).
From 01.11.2012 I changed it to Straight line method (dep key LINS)
When I display the depreciation calculation from AW01N, the following calculation in year 2012 appears:
Type To period Base Value Prd Fact Percentage Calc. Amount
N 10 120.000 0,83333 0,400000 40.000
N 12 80.000 0,16667 0,315789 4.211

I know that the percentage of 0,40 is from the calculation of the double declining method = (1/5)*2
But, how can SAP calculate the 0,315789?

Thanks and regards,
nessiaka
