Once you have created the positions, create you can update/create the org assignment using LSMW for mass upload. (There are other tools as well like Infoshuttle)
Create an LSMW object, then create/copy a recording.
Create all the parts of the LSMW.
Complete the LSMW config till you create the BDC session and execute the session in background. If you want to execute in foreground, select showing errors only.
You may need to do the repeat the above process till you get error free output.
The LSMW workbench has a good amt of help info. If required you can refer to SAP help portal. Also there is some info on this site. Go to the top of the screen and search for LSMW. There is one called 'Legacy Systems Migration Workbench'.

Currently we have one controlling area for all divisions - they have separate company codes.
I need to change the structure so that it can support multiple controlling areas
and new company codes without effecting other divisions (other org units) Is that possible? How can I accomplish that?
Also, if it's possible, I need to incorporate the changes to all positions affected.
Is the best way to create new positions and transfer everyone to their new positions
on the effective date the new company code goes into effect?
