I'm sorry to report that there is no easy or standard way to move or relocate this functionality. You might be able to create a transaction and screen variant in SHD0.
The class and characteristics for this are a direct function of the catalog profile selected and the class that is configured. Changing the equipment record identified on the header of the notification changes the catalog profile to whatever is on the equipment master – if the profile is configured with a different class – then the available item/damage/cause code set changes along with class. "Define Catalog Profile" is the configuration point where class is assigned to the profile. Keep in mind that SAP doesn't actually classify the notification – it classifies the items on the notification. In the standard PM notification screen area 015 is typically configured on the first tab – and that is the "more simplified setup." Many folks remove this view in favor of the 20\TAB01 tab which provides the grid for multiple item entry. Screen view 015 on the firs tab is the first row on the level 20 tab. Regardless, standard SAP o
ffers no standard easier solution than putting view 015 on the first tab.

When creating a notification of a certain type (or some other designator) we would like a class to automatically be assigned to the notification and direct access to entry of characteristics. Right now there are several steps that need to occur before the user gets to the screen allowing for entry of characteristics. I would like for the characteristics entry screen to be, more or less, available at time of notification creation.
IW21 --> Enter Equipment # --> Click "Characteristics Tab" --> Enter characteristics
I've seen this type of thing done in CV04n where by typing in a document type, the next tab is made available with the characteristic fields to perform the search.
Any help would be appreciated.
