I just went into IW51 in our system, and, sure enough, the Name field in the Contact Person section of the screen is input-capable. If I type in a partial name and hit Enter, it brings up the customer search help by name, filtered by the partial name I typed in! We are on ECC6 here, so I doubt that the issue you are experiencing is an ECC6 issue. I wonder if it might be something that can be configured when setting up the custom notification type (we also use custom notification types, as you do).

When opening a new notification in IW51 there is no easy way to find the Sold-to party
number quickly. The Contact person address tab allows the user to enter a name directly into the name field and the STP number automatically populates or presents a list to choose from. Currently, the fields in the Cust. address tab are greyed out so it's not possible to use this method here. |
