We were able to resolve the issue and pass the 5th phase. Increasing these parameters value did the trick.
abap/buffersize
ztta/roll_area
ztta/roll_extension
zcsa/table_buffer_area
and
Phys_memsize

Subject: EhP5 upgrade , Prepocessing Phase very very slow
Hi,
We are upgrading our ECC6 system to EhP5 from EhP3 on Dual-StackSystems and we are stuck in the Pre-processing phase (step 5). Weare using the SAPehpi tool and it didn't progress beyond sub step MAIN_SHDRUN/ACT_UPGfor last 8 days. There are no errors displayed.
Can anyone please let me know what can I do to expedite the process or what has gone wrong?
System details
OS: - Win 2003 R2 Service Pack 2 -64 bits
Database: - MSSQL 2005
RAM: - 24GB
Current CPU usage: - 20% to 25%
There is plenty of free space available for database and in SAP directory
Your advice is appreciated.
