Hi Adry

As per IFRS, assets with 0 value must either be revalued if you are still using the asset or it must
be scrapped or disposed of. I think SAP has now realigned their system with IFRS. One should
not be allowed to fiddle with depreciation as this is where fraud begins without being traced.

Kind regards
Daryl Abraham

Subject: Fixed Assets Values after upgrade from SAP 4.7 to SAP ECC 6.0 - AFAR report

After upgrading we are having some problems when trying to access the values for a certain area. Before upgrading, we have made movements in an area that turns asset value to zero. This is done because for some reports these assets has to have zero value. But after upgrade to ECC 6.04 EHP 7, when trying to get values for this area through AW01N, we received an error message saying that the movement is not possible because does not meet the net value rule.
We reversed this movement and the errro dissapeared but when trying to make the movement again in order to retire the asset (turn value to zero) the amount that the system allows in lower than the former one, and we have doubts if the asset value will be zero or not. We have not yet performed the depreciation process.
Is it possible that the after posting the movement and then posting depreciation the asset value would turn to zero? Since we have no experience in the differences in depreciation calculation in version 6.0, we are not sure what are the steps to follow.
Many thanks for your help, since we are closing december and these reports are really important.
Adriana
