Here are some things I do on a weekly basis to clear space.

Note: Before removing idocs and history check for retention requirements.
1. Run WE11 to clear old idocs.
2. Run RSRLDEL to clear idoc logs.
3. Run WDLS to delete old idoc error messages.
4. Run WDSR to delete old idoc status tracking.
5. Run WDTS to delete old idoc status information.
6. Run SWWL to remove old Work Items.
7. Run SWWH to remove of Work Item history.
8. Run VASK to remove old logs.
9. Run SLG2 to remove expired application logs.
10. Run SPAD and remove old spools. (Admin tab.)

Also consider moving the print spool out of the database to disk.
