Hi Swapna,
We're thinking of implementing some basic functionalities (e.g. Leave application, view payslip, etc) for these blue collar workers. When you mention "try with POC", I believe you're referring to a 3rd party (e.g. dept admin) to do the data entry for this group of employees? How about sensitive info such as payslip?
Yes, we will also implement MSS together with ESS. I understand that Line Managers can access their employees' records via MSS. But the challenge here is to convince the Managers to take over tasks such as data entry for their employees.
Does SAP provide SaaS? What is the difference of implementing ESS using portal vs SaaS in terms of licensing?
Thanks in advance for your answers.

> Each user requires seperate license, though cost can vary as per the services you want to provide. AS you specified most of them are blue collered workers, have u thought of which interface you are providing for them. you can try with POC and see if your workers are able to accept this. Else you can train your managers and implement MSS, which can take care of group of employees and number of license will come down. SAP helps in hosting these applications and you can really go ahead with installing on your own hardware . If you are aware of concepts like cloud computing or SaaS , then it helps you testing these systems wihtout really implementing.
