Hi Jerry,
It is difficult to give any estimate oh the duration of the upgrade. It all depends on how much data you have and the resources of your hardware. The best advice I can give us is to perform the upgrade 3 to 4 times on a sandbox system with similar H/W resources. First copy DEV to the Sandbox and upgrade the DEV system, then copy PRD and upgrade the Sandbox again. You can note down all issues you experience and the actions you took to resolve them. The Developers can note all the SPDD and SPAU actions. You might have to open messages with SAP and wait for answers. You will then konw wihch phase takes the longest. You will also have an idea on the Space requirements, but I think you need 40% free space, at the start.

> Hello Gentleman,
Hope you are all ok, Im looking for advice regarding an upgrade from NW2004 to NW2004s, hope you can give insight on this. This should be the first time for me to perform an upgrade, thus Ive been reading a lot ! specially the support official guides, but still got some doubts which Id like to share with you as follows:
How long should an upgrade project(techical side) should take? Considering Downtime minimized strategy (most of the upgrade project productive system available)
Which phases in your experience are the most expensive in time ? and how to reduce this.
How much free space in OS DISK and Database(permanent/temporal) should be considered based on the current scenario. According to guide, PREPRARE application should estimate this data.
Thanks in advance,
Jerry
