[sap-log-pm] Recording Project cost variations in SAP

Hi experts,
We use the SAP Plant Maintenance module for raising capital investment orders. (Not using SAP PS).
We want to optimise our current process of recording project variations in SAP. We raise purchase orders with the suppliers which ideally consists of detailed breakdown of the activities and the price. We want to establish better control while processing invoices especially in the event of cost variations. We currently manage it by manual workaround procedures,which we want to improve to be more effective and efficient.
We fear the risk of duplicate/over payments in the current process.
Kindly suggest alternatives.
