As per my understanding you are doing IDOC to HTTP or HTTP to IDOC scenario. In both the cases you don't require the sender communication channels and sender agreement because IDOC and HTTP adapters are in the ABAP stack of XI(PI). So, they can communicate directly with the integration engine. But in both the cases you have to configure your receiver communication channels.
I believe, now you must be able to rectify the problem.
