The Java update your AIX team want to do will not impact the Java versions of the SAP systems.
However you should think about updating the SAP Java Versions with the SAP JVM as soon as possible, using the JVM switch tool.

HI Experts,
AIX Admin wants to upgrade the Java in OS level from current level to newer version.
Want to confirm that it will affect the SAP ECC 6.0 processing further due to it? It will be done Online no downtime required. But, worried about the ECC6.0, BI and APO all R/3 systems will work fine after upgrade at OS level?
Please suggest ASAP.
