Reply from sathakre on May 8 at 5:35 PM System of Record is SAP and will be always in your case, is my understanding. When one tries to build an offline file or system like you described, it is going to be a challenge even if the data of that access file is valid to be worked on, because eventually this budgeting data which is being worked in access has to get into SAP to update the system of record. Is my understanding of the situation correct in your case? Warm regards, Sachin Thakre

(Going on for about 6 years!) That being said they do not do their budgeting in SAP. A manager has come on board and has literally created this huge access file that basically is an ERP system. I am trying to build a case to go against using Access. I would like to encourage investing the resources to use SAP, the way it should be used. Can anyone please provide some points arguing this point? What are the disadvantages of using Access given that there is no SQL server either? Please let me know if my question is clear enough. Thanks, Alexis | | Reply to this email to post your response. __.____._ | _.____.__ |
