Do your users input entries with LC and GC populated? If this is the case then you are relying on your users to calculate the GC figure correctly.
When the balance is bought into your consolidations system it will then get translated at the correct rate based on your tcurr table.

We have 1st local currency SGD, and 2nd local currency CHF.
For 2nd local currency, the settings are:
Currency type:30 Group currency
Exchange rate type:M
Source Currency:1
Translation date type:3
We update the exchange rate OB08 monthly:
M SGD CHF 2011.05.31 0.69130
M SGD CHF 2011.06.30 0.67910
M SGD CHF 2011.07.31 0.66480
M SGD CHF 2011.08.31 0.67630
M SGD CHF 2011.09.30 0.69497
But when I check BKPF and BSEG found that the exchange rate in BKPF did not match the values in BSEG, e.g.:

Obviously, the rate in BKPF was match the rate in OB08, but the values in BSEG did not match the rate in BKPF.
Does anyone has such situation, could you please share your experience?
Any hint would be appreciated!
