Hello Raj,
In local hosts files I would normally not expect any entry with respect to this topic.
In the services file make sure that information to reach your servers and services are maintained, i.e. maintain service name, port number, protocol. Generally, you want to find an entry for protocol tcp/for message server at least. In saplogon.ini of course your choice of how to logon is reflected, please see SAP Note 99435 e.g.
Please also have a look into SAP Note 38119.
