Dear all, During creation of a serialized equipment the users assign a class that has a view custom characteristics assigned to it. Upon saving at the end of the process an error occurs: "inconsistent characteristic value assigned" The SAP message suggests some options: - A precondition or selection is violated - The characteristic is a single-value one and different values have been set by constrains, action, procedures - In classification, inconsistencies occur when you change the value set of the characteristic if objects or classes have already been classified with values from the previous value set. I am new to the team, so I am not sure if that ever worked or what was changed to make if fail. I was not able to reproduce the problem in the Q system. Do you have any advice? I researched for some standard SAP programs that might help to built the whole set of classifications and characteristic up newly without destroying the existing assignments to the objects. The programs are the following: CLS_OBJECT_CHARACTERIZATION Object characterization RCCLAUSPOLDNEW Exchange or Initialize Characteristics in Classification RKEAGENV Regenerate View Maintenance for User-Defined Characteristics RHOMATTRIBUTES_CONSISTENCY Consistency Check: Characteristics Generic Attributes Since I cannot reproduce them in Q and the help texts are not too helpful, can anybody explain what they are supposed to do and what the risks are? Thanks so much. Steve | __.____._ Copyright © 2010 Toolbox.com and message author. Toolbox.com 4343 N.
