[sap-log-mm] Changing Batch Management in MM02

In order to guarantee the tracability of batches we need to turn on the Batch Managment in MM02 / urchasing.
We made sure there was no stock left and indeed, when we check this via MB52 SAP tells us there is no stock for this item. However, if we try to turn on the Batch managment the system gives an error saying there is stock in warehouse 1506.
Any suggestions??
