Did you involve the network support people in that backup design?
Can you attach the tape drive to the DB host (preferably through its own HBA)?

we have recently purchased LTO7 for the backup of DEV server . DB size around 2 GB .
As we started the backup using DB13 it progress very slow it shows in log that bacup will take around 3 days to complete .
os- sun solaris
db- oracle
we are taking backup of the SAP development over the network .
any suggestions .
