It seems you have a BRBACKUP process already running.
Try kill the process if any, delete this lock file (
/oracle/ARS/sapbackup/.lock.brb) and run your backup again.

Thanks for your valuable input the listner is running fine after restarting it but now I am facing a new issue.

BR0051I BRBACKUP 7.40 (9)
BR0055I Start of database backup: beqhazha.anr 2015-04-14 03:10:34
BR0484I BRBACKUP log file: /oracle/ARS/sapbackup/beqhazha.anr
BR0071E BRBACKUP currently running or was killed
BR0072I Please delete file /oracle/ARS/sapbackup/.lock.brb if BRBACKUP was killed
BR0073E Setting of BRBACKUP lock failed

BR0056I End of database backup: beqhazha.anr 2015-04-14 03:10:34
BR0280I BRBACKUP time stamp: 2015-04-14 03:10:34
BR0054I BRBACKUP terminated with errors

Could you please suggest anything on this further.
