There are several switches, which you need to activate depending on your requirements. For personnel administration, you have to activate CCURE + PAUIX switch. On activating this switch, you get additional Information on the initial screen of transaction PA30/ PA40. You can customize the layouts of this additional information. While you run a hiring action, the system searches the employees data if he is hired before. If you are hiring a employee who is already exists in your database, there are two possibilities. The employee is not active any more. In this case, you can hire him under his old personnel number. Alternatively, you can hire him under a new personnel number, creating personnel assignment. If the employee is still active. In this case, you are probably hiring him for an additional assignment. You can do so by giving him a new personnel number. While hiring an employee, if you enter a reference personnel number, info type 0031 automatically gets updated for all personnel numbers. You only need to maintain infotype 0031 manually, if you want to retrospectively create a relationship between two personnel numbers that already exist, or if you want to delete a link between two personnel numbers.
