Reply from JG-SAPHR on Nov 14 at 7:15 PM Phil, What ccoelli said is right. For info, please note: Before running live / actual payroll, payroll simulation is run for the relevant period. (this does not need the payroll area to be released for the current period). This lists any errors in the employees' data. These errors are analyzed; if necessary a payroll simulation is run with log to find the reason behind the error. Errors are corrected. Then Live (or actual) Payroll is processed for a payroll area with following steps: 1. Release the relevant payroll area - This locks the payroll area; the system does not allow any maintenance of employee data, through ESS/MSS or foreground/background. This is to ensure that the payroll is processed correctly. 2. Run Actual Payroll transaction. This can result in some employees not processed due to errors 3. Posting simulation, 4. Bank Transfer simulation 5. Run Payroll reports including reconciliation, payments/deductions, any exceptions in payments/deductions. Then any errors found above are addressed - e.g., correction of any errors in payroll processing errors, posting, bank transfer. Before employee's data correction, the payroll area is set into correction mode. After all corrections, the live payroll steps are as below. A. If payroll area has been set to correction, release the payroll area. B. Live payroll is run. This will automatically run only for those employees where a change is made in the employee's data. C. Exit payroll area D. Run live posting E. Run live bank transfer F. Payroll reports as required. Please note it is possible to run posting simulation with payroll simulation, by using the selection inputs in RPCIPE00

I've tried looking into what could be the problem and how to resolve it but with no luck. Any ideas?
