In T554S, copy an existing absence type that closely resembles the new one for Mat.Leave.

In IMG->Time Mgt---, look for absence types. Go through each step.

If the absence type is to be shown as a w/t with hrs in the payslip,
a) Copy an existing w/t to a new w/t.
b) In IMG->Payroll-your molga, go through absence valuation.
c) Modify payslip to show the w/t.
d) The absence hrs in any case needs to reduce the factors ( that affect the payment of normal pay.
e) If the absence is paid, then it needs to be valuated, and posted.

I'd suggest refreshing yourself with both Time Mgt & Payroll config steps for absences in your notes/guide.

Subject: Capturing the Maternity Leave Details Without Affecting Payroll

Dear all,

We have configured the Absence Types and quotas and Payroll is working as
per the configurations.

My client would like to capture the Maternity Leave details now in SAP.

We found there is an option to capture the Maternity details in IT0080.
But whether we need to create different leave types and rules for this
infotype or the existing absence groupings to be modified?

Please let us know whether we need to modify the existing set up or I can
configure the Maternity leaves as stand alone without affecting the
current payroll.

Thanks
