Hi RB,

I would just like to add that I did a ton of these migrations before I was actually certified to do it. Not once did I have any problems getting normal support from SAP during these migrations. However, best practice is of course to hire a certified consultant to do it.

You need to follow the Heterogeneous System Copy (Migration) for this.
You need to get a certified SAP OS/DB Migration Consultant to do this activity else SAP wont provide support.
You use sapinst to export the source system and then import the export dump to the target system.
You should read the System Copy guide for more information.
