Hi JG,

Thanks for the suggestion :-)

My initial suggestion was to use IT2001 but the client needs to handle this
differently. SAP data flows in their LMS (leave management system) &
employees register their absences there. Client doesn't want their
superusers to update the data back end as the electronic signature from
employee for that extension would be missing, so they want a special field
to track a date as the 'start date of working'.

The date which they store as 'start date of work' would be sent out to
various other non-sap systems & training/ work availability tools.
In future, the client should also be able to report all the start date for
cross reference (so deletion is not required).

This change is done for legal/compliance reasons.

In your mail I believe you were referring to IT0019 (Monitoring of Tasks) &
not IT0016 (Contract Elements).

Thanks,
Shan.

Hi Shan

The IT 2001 end date itself can be used to list employees with PA2001-ENDDA in a given range. You should not need to store this date again in another infotype.

If you are specific about this need, then you can use IT 16 with a new task type. This can also provide a reminder the administrator/manager prior to the return date. Another report can be run to list employees based on the reminder date.
This can be created in the background through dynamic actions. Also, when a absence record is changed, this IT 16 also needs to be deleted and a new one created. Similarly an absence deletion should delete IT 16. would apply when For this purpose, it would be best to call a function (or a form in ABAP terminology) in the dynamic action. This function should create/delete IT 16 based on the IT 2001 input and any existing IT 16.

Hope this helps
Regards, JG
