We use a text object called "Customer Master Text". The contents of the text object are copied (using SD Copy Control) to the Sales Order (and to the Delivery in our case). The user can override or change the contents of the text object.

Tcode = XD02, General Data: Path = Extras > Texts using to maintain the default value that is copied to the sales order.

You will probably need to define the Text object in Configuration if it is not there.

Subject: How to add custom fields at customer master?

Hi experts,

I want to add a field in customer master. During the customer master conversion, this field needs to be populated to store a client specific record. I went through all the fields currently available, but none of them serves the client's requirement. It should be 10 digit, alphanumeric.

This field should flow to the sales order. During sales order creation, client should have flexibility to overwrite the default value that flows from the customer master.

How do we add fields in customer master in such situation? It would be very helpful if you also give me information about the program, and table that are related with this new custom field.

Thank you in advance
