Hi
As Rajan rightly mentioned ( also refer to my earlier post in the same
thread ) change the lay out to see the line items with the field "Amount in
Local Currency " included and you would see the difference in exchange
expressed in local currency.

I am not sure if it was a real problem any longer. Perhaps I wanted the system to do what it isn't built to do? I was hoping that the system would generate a DIE of 3000 automatically when clearing the open item from the customer's account, and using f-28. But is this really correct? Is the system capable of doing this?
