When the system gets to the MODPROF_TRANS phase, you are prompted to shutdown application servers and have people log off of the system. This is the step just prior to the downtime portion of the upgrade...no one is allowed to logon from this point on. unless of course there is some error which you have to respond to by unlocking and logging on to fix. During this phase NO users are allowed on the system.

Snowy, I appreciate the patience with me on this, but when it locks the system, does it just lock it for development/transports and still allow users to log on to view information? I get the point that it locks users, but what does it lock them from doing? Logging in? Modifications from being made? |
