Look for tnsnames.ora path and set environment variable TNS_ADMIN, for example TNS_ADMIN = /oracle//102_64/network/admin In new installations it could be on /sapmnt//profile/oracle 2011/4/24 basisgroup via sap-basis > Posted by basisgroup > on Apr 24 at 9:46 AM Hi All, > > I am installing NW7.0 with ehp2 on RHEL5 (x86_64). Hi All,

I am installing NW7.0 with ehp2 on RHEL5 (x86_64). During the Start Instance phase of the installation it throws and error "Instance DPD/DVEBMGS00 reached state SHUTDOWN after having state STARTING. Giving up."

The dev_w0 log is given below. The status of R3trans is R3trans finished (0000). Both the database and listener are up and running.
