Hi David,

Could you please elaborate ? Is this the kind of setup that is done with DR system ?

I don't have much experience with DR or setting up standby DB's. Could you please give us a highlevel steps to start with the planning on this DC move ? Any reference to some links or documentation highly appreciated.

Thanks

Subject: SAP datacenter relocation - how to ?

We are having a data center migration and was wondering how to minimize the downtime during the final cut-over phase.
We have a 3 system landscape for all SAP systems. To name one we are on ECC 6.0/RHEL5.4/Oracle10204.

We are planning a system copy for all system. There are no problem with the DEV/QAS environment, as cut over is not crusial.

For production systems, I am planning a system copy, do all the post processing and make it functional. Now during the cut over is there a way I can roll-forward the log from the current production to this new environment ?

The reason for this kind of approach is, after the initial system copy I can configure all the RFC's, partner profles, connections to other legacy systems, certificates etc can be done and make it functional and do a complete test before we cut-over.

Are there any alternative approach to do this ?
