Hello,

Some initial contribution to these questions.

Ad 1) It seems a similar question was discussed here: https://forums.sdn.sap.com/message.jspa?messageID= 7783799

Furthermore, I would have recommended making SAP Solution Manager system your central domain controller and transport management system (right now, it is one of the systems that would be affected by the system copy, if I understand correctly?). This way, I assume the transport route configuration could be kept (i.e. would not be overwritten) and configuration could be recreated/redistributed (as long as you generally retain the satellite systems). http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/d ocs/library/uuid/10456aac-44f7-2a10-1fbe-8b7bcd7bcd58. Before the system copy, you might want to use a backup domain controller/to move the domain controller to another system which is neither the source nor the target system of the system copy. The backup domain controller should be on a system which is not affected by the system copy. Please have a look into this additional information: http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/36/22 cdf2e00311d184800000e8a57770/frameset.htm. You might want to make copies of all buffer files in all transport directories, so that import queues are not lost (/usr/sap/trans/buffer), too.

With best regards
Robin

Subject: [sap-basis] CUA and TMS configuration before and after homogeneous system copy

My operating environment is SAP ERP ECC6/Oracle 10.2.0.2/Solaris 10

I administer a 3 system landscape (DEV, QAS & PRD) together with Solution manager (SMN) in a CUA configuration. Central administration of the child systems (DEV, QAS & PRD) is done from Solution Manager (SMN).

Over time my data in DEV & QAS system has become outdated and users are have requested for accurate/up-to-date data for development & testing. I intend to archive this goal via a homogeneous system copy (central instance ABAP) of the PRD system to overwrite the DEV & QAS systems.

I need expert advice on the measures I'm required to take on the CUA & TMS configurations before and after this exercise

For example
? should I delete the TMS configuration & transports routes before proceeding with the exercise ?
? Should I remove all the clients in the child systems(DEV, QAS & PRD) from CUA configuration in solution manager before proceeding ?
? I intend to retain the SAPSID, System number & system ID of DEV & QAS during the system copy. Will I be required to reconfigure CUA after the system copy ?
? What will happen to the pending imports in the transport queue after I reconfigure TMS & recreate transports routes after the system copy ?

My transport domain controller is the DEV system but the transport directory (/usr/sap/trans/bin) is in QAS system

Kindly advice

Thanks
