Hi Stephen,

The reasoning for a different order type is beacuse these are high value strategic orders with perhaps hundreds of line items for a specific group of customers, these orders are assigned to a specific order manager who 'owns' the end to end delivery for the customer. I'm not committed to having a specific order type if there is another way of managing these orders

Some of the items will be normal stock items in the delivery plant, some will be for items that are not normally stocked in this plant and would normally be supplied from other plants, and other items will be back to back and direct delivery from 3rd party suppliers.

Assigning the plant at the item level within the sales order will be a requirement, so I suppose my question is how I can get the items that would normally be delivered from the other plants automatically transferred to the delivery plant, and reserved against the sales order? i.e. how do i generate an automatic Stock Transfer Order ?

regards,
MikeB
