Hi Guys, I have heard both options but when we created multiple LUNs and then split the data files we had better I/O of about 40% That is our experience. Thanks. This is old school and not necessary anymore. it is way better to create one huge partition with 15 disks (or even more) in the same array. With this strategy, this improved our I/O considerably. so, the trick is not how many partitions, but how many disks are used in the array... and obviously, the speed that the SAN controllers and its network/fiber channel speed can handle. ---------------Original Message--------------- From: mark_me Sent: Saturday, July 31, 2010 10:15 AM Subject: oracle data files ( not log files ) > In an typical PRD environment , the sap data files ( not log files) should be taken in single partition or different partitions. we do have log partitions different on RAID1 . > Please advice. | __.____._ Copyright © 2010 Toolbox.com and message author.
